Letterman’s Last “Late Show” Included an All-Star Top 10 List

DAVID LETTERMAN signed off for good last night with a show that was heavy on clips from his last 30-odd years on TV. But one of the highlights was an all-star list of the “Top 10 Things I’ve Always Wanted to Say to Dave”. It was delivered by, in this order, Alec Baldwin, Barbara Walters, Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Peyton Manning, Tina Fey, and Bill Murray.

Julia had the best line . . . quote, “Thanks for letting me take part in another hugely disappointing series finale.” Seinfeld’s reaction was pretty priceless . . . not that he didn’t know it was coming, of course.

A Woman Had Almost Everything Go Her Way on “The Price Is Right”

If you weren’t watching “The Price Is Right” on Monday, then you missed one of the most amazing . . . and LUCKIEST . . . games anyone has ever played. A woman named MAGHINA LORCA was the last person called up from the audience. So she had only one shot to get up onstage, and she did just that by getting the closest bid on a fireplace. She played the game Squeeze Play for an ATV and a motorcycle, and she WON. When she spun the wheel during the Showcase Showdown, she got ONE DOLLAR on her first spin. Then she got a dollar on her BONUS SPIN, too . . . winning her $26,000. Needless to say, she ended the show by winning her Showcase, picking up a new car, a trip to Vienna and some bikes. Her total earnings in cash and prizes were $59,877. Only two other things could have happened to make this the PERFECT “Price Is Right” game:

First, if her bid on the fireplace was right on the nose, she would have won an extra $500. But she wasn’t even close on that. She bid $800, and the fireplace was $1,400. But she won because everyone else overbid.

Second, if she had come within $250 of the actual price of her Showcase, she would have won them BOTH. And she actually almost did that. She was only $679 off. (!!!)

Kathy Griffin Will Replace Joan Rivers on E!’s “Fashion Police”

Photo: .bravotv.com

Earlier this month, KATHY GRIFFIN said she’d been offered JOAN RIVERS’ role on E!’s “Fashion Police” . . . but wasn’t sure if it was “right” for her.

Well, apparently she decided it WAS. TMZ says it’s a “done deal” . . . and that Kathy will join Melissa Rivers, Kelly Osbourne, and Giuliana Rancic. It’s unclear whether or not George Kotsiopoulos will be back. Word has it the show will no longer be a weekly series. Instead, E! will use it as “event programming,” during award shows and other special occasions. A source close to the hit show tells Us Weekly that “Joan has always given her blessing to Kathy” and that she “wanted Kathy to be her successor.” Is this a good move?

BET Cancels 106 & Park

Photo: bet.com

After a 14-year run, BET’s “106 & Park” is leaving TV. The final episode is airing on December 19th. BET will continue to produce various specials throughout the year, including its annual New Year’s Eve show, “106 & Party”. That said, the show is being “re-formatted” to become an online-only series. The network says, quote, “As we transition to the digital space, we look to continue ‘106 & Park’s’ role as both a leader of and a mirror to youth culture. We’ll have more information to share about how that is to roll out very soon.”

The show launched in 2000 with hosts AJ & Free and in 2006, Terrence J & Rocsi took over. Some of the biggest stars from music, movies and television graced the stage at 106 including Madonna, Tom Cruise, Beyonce and even Michelle Obama. Will you miss the show?

Is Nick Cannon Doing a Richard Pryor TV Project?

Photo: asianjunkie.com

NICK CANNON really, really wanted to play RICHARD PRYOR in an upcoming movie based on his life, but he didn’t get the part. Instead, the producers, including OPRAH WINFREY, selected MIKE EPPS to play Pryor.

But Nick isn’t giving up yet. Now, he’s reportedly shopping his own version of Pryor’s life story to TV networks. It’s not a show . . . it’s some sort of TV special. And apparently, NBC is interested. A “source” says, quote, “Nick was devastated when he found out that he didn’t get the part . . . it’s been Nick’s dream to play Richard Pryor in a movie because he was his inspiration growing up.” We will keep you posted as it happens.
