I’ve been hearing a lot about this crew called Keep It So Solid for quite some time, and I finally have some work to share.
Today, the family’s very own Neno dropped his mixtape, Nothing’s Free.
The project is much more than a mixtape (i.e Original production and features from the whole Keep It So Solid family), but I guess that’s what we’re gonna go with.

Last week, I gave you the details on the big squabble between DJ Mustard and Oakland’s Mistah F.A.B. Just before the clock struck midnight on Friday night, the boys cleared the air, making it clear that they don’t want to hear of the beef any longer.
This me and @MistahFAB shit is over kill the noise !!!!! It was a fight it’s squashed … Now get over it !
— Dj mustard (@DJmustard) June 21, 2014

So with that being said as men @DJmustard & myself are on some grown man shit LET’S GET BACK TO THE MONEY!!! #CALILOVE — STAN PABLO (@MistahFAB) June 21, 2014
This is the type of talk that’s going to help put the West back on top. Bless to the homies for putting the coast before the drama.
YouTube sensation Alyssa Bernal released a cover of Erykah Badu‘s famed record “On & On” earlier today.
Recently, she and Sacramento producer Ru (AREYOU) have been posting hints at working together via Instagram, Twitter, & Facebook, but today it was made very public.
The cover offers a very modern soulful touch to the Baduizm single. Alyssa’s smooth vocal, accompanied by Ru’s signature Future-Soul sound is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Peep the video below.
Sacramento/Roseville native, and SAMMIE Award Winner, Stevie Nader releases his new GRIT EP with frequent production collaborator Boywolf.
The last time this pair got together, it was for the last three tracks on of Stevie’s 2013 SAMMIE Award-winning project 333. (Stevie took home SAMMIES for three of the four categories he was nominated for.)
This new work from the duo is nothing short of greatness. Download GRIT here.
Below is the video from the last time Stevie and Boywolf got together.
After I got off air last night, Robbie On The Radio decided to trade Hip Hop videos that we know of. Upon doing so, I pulled up a few videos from the Sacramento Hip Hop scene. Here’s one of the most memorable videos that I sent:
Sacramento native, and Hip Hop blog frequenter Illecism of Natomas’ infamous Fly High or Die (FHOD) crew, has been on a bit of a hiatus from making music since changing his name back from Xuice Hades. However, that hiatus hasn’t stopped his music from spreading. This 2008 video of a 19-year-old Illthy, showcases 6-minutes of straight BARS over a beatbox from FHOD‘s head producer Nicatyne.
In honor of California Hip Hop legend Tupac “2pac” Shakur, this is footage from his 1996 performance at the Los Angeles House Of Blues.
This should hold you over as the world waits on Pac’s return.
Happy Birthday, Pac!
The first music video from TDE‘s Isaiah Rashad, since the XXL Freshmen 2014 cover. The vocals on the record are enough to create a darkness, but the visual has come in as the perfect enhancement to this heater from the youngest member of Top Dawg. Peep the video below.
Keep it real… This is actually one of my favorite quotable verses from IAMSU!, as he’s the first one to crack the mic on this heater from Las Vegas’ very own Mally Mall. Here’s the video that was released on WorldStarHipHop this past Tuesday.
